How to flavor Water Kefir Guide
This guide is great for getting started not only for it’s beautiful photography but also the great step-by-step instructions.
Peach Lavender Soda
Ok this might not be for everyone, however I like the lavender flavor together with the fruity peach. Be very careful though when it comes to adding the lavender. A bit too much and flavors can get…lets say…intense. So go slowly when flavoring this drink and you will achieve amazing results.
Cherry Vanilla Kefir
Second fermentation is really the fun part of fermentation where bubbles really build. Cherries are always a great fruit although I usually eat way too many before I even get started with my little fermentation experiments. The combination with vanilla balances the flavors very nicely.
Coconut Water Kefir
Coconut water kefir is one of my go-to recipes for everyday drinks. I just love coconut water and it’s not just because of all the nutritious benefits you get. It just tastes amazing! It is also a great base to start your own experiments in flavoring.
Lavender Blueberry Kefir
Another amazing creation with lavender. Again, use caution when adding lavender because it can easily turn into a soapy flavor you really don’t want.
Homemade Soda
Get a few water kefir grains and some fruit and you are pretty much good to go when it comes to delicious water kefir recipes. Weather you have lots of little experience with water kefir, this is a great place to get inspired. Check out the recipe over at cheerfullyimperfect.com.

I love it and so will you! So go and give it a try…
Water Kefir Soda
This is one for hot summer days! Or actually any other day because they are just too tasty to miss out on in winter. Erica over at thankyourbody.comhas put together a great guide on how to create and flavor your own water kefir sodas. Given the many different flavors you can go for there surely is something for everyone.
Orange Kefir Soda Pop
This is a great one for kids (big and small). It’s all fizzy, bubbly and healthy and in every way a great replacement for all the unhealthy drinks kids drink on a daily basis.
So, having a hard time to convince them to eat more healthy things? I promise that you wont have that problem with these healthy soda pops. Go over to fermentedfoodlab.com to check out the recipe.
Guide: Water Kefir Flavors
Another great guide to introduce you to the world of fizzing flavored water kefir. Strawberry Kiwi or Cranberry Limonade, a Vitamin-C-Booster or an Orange Carrot Fizz. There is something for everyone. Go over to deliciousobsessions.com to check out all the variations.
Cinnamon Coconut Water Kefir
This is perfect for the upcoming winter season! The cinnamon flavor gives it a “christmasy” flavor while the coconut keeps it fresh and healthy. Packed with healthy probiotics it helps you to fight this nasty winter cold and just gives you an extra immune boost to get ready for winter. Check out the recipe at aharmonyhealing.com.
Mint, Blueberry and Pomegranate Water Kefir
Doesn’t it look stunning?
And it tastes even better. Kelly over at foodiefiasco.com has created a masterpiece of a water kefir drink. Be sure to try it!
Sparkling Cider Water Kefir
I love cider! It is just something I could drink all day long (but I’m not…for obvious reasons).
If you enjoy cider as much as I do, this drink is for you! So if you don’t know what to do with all those apples coming fall, now you do. Check out the water kefir recipe over at picklemetoo.com.
Ginger Blueberry Water Kefir Probiotic Punch
Another one of my favorite water kefir recipes. While the ginger keeps it fresh and fizzy, the blueberry ads a sweet and almost earthy taste to it. As usual you get all the good probiotic benefits out of it so you can’t really go wrong with this drink. Check out the recipe at lightorangebean.com.
Water Kefir Ice Cream Float with Summer Peaches
Water Kefir Ice Cream!!!
What else can I say about it? Hot summer days, some delicious ice cream that even has health benefits? This is just perfect. Emily over at recipestonourish.com will tell you how to make it yourself.
Apple Water Kefir
Basic and simple, sometimes that’s all you need. If life were only so simple. You also can’t have chocolate cake every day, can you? Apple Water Kefir is actually super easy to make at home and it offers all the health benefits you would want from a probiotic drink. Add this to your daily diet.
Strawberry Chia Water Kefir
Another great summer drink for you to try out. The chia seeds add a lot of fibre which also improves digestion on top of the usual probiotic benefits. Found on homestead-honey.com.
Water Kefir Ginger Beer
Two great things come together in this drink – water kefir and ginger beer. Both amazing probiotic drinks by themselves but combined they become a powerhouse of probiotic goodness. Learn how to make our own ginger beer over at loveandtrash.com.
Cherrie Mango Water Kefir Smoothie
Another one for the smoothie lovers out there. This one is delicious, fresh and fruity. Make sure that you use organic ingredients (which you should do in any case) and once you add some kefir to it, this becomes the perfect nutritious drink for hot summer days. Learn how to make it here.
Elderberry Kefir
This one was recommended to me by a friend and I haven’t had the chance to try it myself yet. But I trust her judgement that this is a perfect drink to slip into your diet once in a while to spice things up. Go over to edibleeastbay.com for more.
Grape Kefir Soda
Another one that was recommended to me while I was chatting with a friend about various kefir variations at my favorite coffee place here in Berlin. I doubt that I will ever be able to try all the amazing variations that are out there…you get more details about this bubbling piece of awesomeness here.
Cranberry Raspberry Water Kefir
While Cranberries seem to be super popular to flavor kefir, I really like that Rebekah added some raspberry as well which just suits me better for some reason. Oh, did I mention that water kefir is basically lactose free for all of you “intolerant” folks out there?
Vanilla Coconut Water Kefir
I wish I had found this recipe earlier since I really like how the flavors of vanilla, coconut and kefir come together to form something magical. It is a fresh drink perfect for spring and summer, helps to cleanse and detox your body while giving you all the amazing vitamins and bacteria your gut needs.
Check out the recipe here.
Herbal Water Kefir Soda
So this one is a bit different from the others due to it’s herbal flavors. It is actually a bit more like Kombucha which is brewed using black or green tea. Since I make and sell my own Kombucha this is obviously a recipe I am very fond of. Try it – you can find more instructions here.
Cantaloupe Flavored Water Kefir
Summer is the time of melons and berries. So using cantaloupe obviously makes for an amazing seasonal drink you shouldn’t miss. Amanda over at pickle.com will show you exactly how to make your own.
Probiotic Raspberry Lemon Soda
Another amazing drink for summer. While the lemon adds a certain freshness to it, the raspberry gives it a nice sweetness especially kids will love. More on this recipe here.
Probiotic Strawberry Soda
Another one for the kids – big and small. Because..who doesn’t love strawberries right? So check out the recipe here.
Rosemary Pear Kefir
I actually enjoy rosemary, pears and honey on a good bread freshly out of the oven…just delicious. This is basically the water kefir version of my little snack…so yes…gotta love it 🙂
Sparkling Probiotic Cherry Soda
We had strawberries, now we have cherries. Because we all need a little bit more variety in our lives, right? And cherries are just delicious so why not flavor your drinks with them? You can find the recipe here.
